“Your sublimation ink will not only determine the design quality of your items but will also enable you to print in large quantities with ease.”

Dye sublimation printing is the process in which heat and pressure are used to transform the ink straight into a gas without first liquefying it, Because of the high temperature, the ink is able to transfer onto things without migrating, cracking, or smudging. Furthermore, the ink remains a permanent part of the printed object and does not fade or wash away over time. As a result, sublimation inks are extremely reliable and long-lasting. So, a greater level of accuracy can be achieved using this type of ink and printing technique.

The ideal sublimation ink has a low viscosity and will not clog the tubes and small parts, ensuring a smooth operation. While vibrancy is crucial, reliable accuracy is also crucial.

How to Use Dye Sublimation Inks in Ink Jet PRINTER?

Dye sublimation ink varies from traditional dye-based ink in that the ink is transferred from a solid to a gaseous state. The dye sublimation medium contains a unique coating that traps the ink, resulting in more exact blends than fine dots from an inkjet printer. Because dye sublimation ink penetrates the medium, it dries quickly and does not fade over time.

Cartridges

  • Install the Epson utility software as well as the color management software for sublimation inks on your PC.
  • To connect, insert the USB cable into the relevant slots on the printer and computer. Connect the printer’s power wire to an outlet.
  • Raise the printer lid to open it and change the Epson printer’s ink cartridges with compatible dye sublimation ink cartridges. To lock the cartridges in place, make sure they click into the slots.
  • Turn on the printer and enter the Epson printer utility, then choose the option to clear the printer head to force ink through the print heads.
  • Add sublimation paper into the paper tray and print a test page, if wanted.

Continuous Ink System

  • Download and install the Epson utility on your computer.
  • Attach the USB cord to the printer’s suitable slot and plug it into the appropriate slot on your computer.
  • Replace the ink cartridges in the printer with the ink cartridges in the continuous ink system, ensuring that each cartridge clicks to lock in place.
  • Connect the printer to a power socket and turn it on.
  • As soon as the printer cartridges move, unplug the printer’s power cable (unlocked).
  • Hold the linked tubing above the printer’s interior and simply press the bank of cartridges to the printer’s left side.
  • Insert the tubing into the clip after attaching the plastic holder to the inside center panel. To prevent entanglement as the print head swings side to side, make sure the tubing does not droop inside the printer’s interior.
  • Gently slide the cartridge back to the printer’s right side. If necessary, adjust the tubing to generate slack when the printer head advances to either side of the printer.
  • Place the remaining end of the tubing on the printer’s left side and fasten it with the clip.
  • Remove the plugs from each ink container in the continuous ink system and replace the air filters as directed by the manufacturer.
  • Start the Epson printer utility and connect the printer’s power wire to a plug socket. Turn on the printer.
  • Choose the function that cleans the printer heads and runs the ink through the tube. If necessary, repeat the printer head cleaning procedure.
  • Insert sublimation paper into the paper tray and, if desired, print a test page.

Advantages and Disadvantages of sublimation technology

ADVANTAGES:

Here is a list of the benefits of sublimation printing.

  • Sublimation is one of the few technologies available for printing full-color images onto hard materials.
  • When compared to screen printing, it needs a shorter training time.
  • There are nearly infinite color combinations to pick from. A large number of colors can be created with sublimation (also if you choose a 4-color printer).
  • It costs the same to print one item as it does to print 1000 pieces. There is no requirement for minimum orders, and these things are ideal for 1-up items and marketing materials for smaller companies, schools, charities, sports teams, parties, reunions, and so many more!
  • Complete personalization! Because no plates are required for digital sublimation printing, it is great for customizing designs with changing elements such as names, numbers, and so on.
  • Sublimation printing is quick and simple, allowing for same-day or same-hour printing and printing, which eliminates risk and waste.

DISADVANTAGES:

As with any printing method, there may be some disadvantages, therefore here are a few…

  • Printers clog up when they are not used for long periods of time.
  • When compared to OEM inks, sublimation inks are quite expensive. This must be considered while pricing your products.
  • Problems with color management. Color management issues have been greatly improved by the installation of the Power Driver. As with all printers, color management problems will largely depend on the picture.
